Corpus Christi concert
Eguisheim
06/06/2026To celebrate Corpus Christi, Ensemble vocal Confluence(S) presents a program of music composed for the feast. The concert's centerpiece is Josquin Desprez's Messe Pange Lingua, the composer's last, written around 1515 and considered a Renaissance masterpiece. The seven parts of the mass alternate with works by contemporary musicians (Gjeilo, Villa-Lobos, Jenkins...) on texts celebrating Corpus Christi: indeed, the Hymn Pange Lingua on which Josquin's mass is built was composed by Thomas Aquinas for this feast.
The Ensemble vocal Confluence(S), based in Eguisheim, has some fifteen members under the direction of Roland Schaffhauser.
